The 2021-22 UEFA Europa Conference League will be the first season of the UEFA Europa Conference League, Europe’s third club football tournament organized by the UEFA.
The final will be played at the Arena Combatare in Tirana, Albania. 2021–22 UEFA Europa Conference League winners will automatically qualify for the 2022–23 UEFA Europa League group stage until they qualify for the 2022–23 UEFA Champions League group stage.
This is the first season since 1998–99 (the last season in which the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup was played) where UEFA hosts three major European club competitions (UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League).
On 24 June 2021, UEFA approved a proposal to abolish the round goal in all UEFA club competitions, which had been in use since 1965. Therefore, if in a two-legged tie, two teams receive the same amount of total goals, the winner of the tie will not be judged by the number of rounds scored by each team, but always by the 30 minutes of extra time. And if both teams score equal goals in extra time, the winner will be decided on penalties. Shoot out
